Excelr8 uses the power of sport and physical activity to raise the awareness amongst local communities as it aims to tackle mental health stigmas and support those of us with mental health problems to become more active.

Our interventions and sports programs can increase self-esteem and reduce depression and anxiety in children as well as adults.  We also know that physical activity performed in an outdoor space can improve cognitive performance, self-esteem and reduce anxiety and symptoms related to attention deficit disorder. 

Excelr8 are aware of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, with our multi sports and wellbeing interventions, alongside our referral pathways to special services, we have identified clear pathways for those suffering from mental health issues when participating in physical activity. 

ACTIVE PARTICIPATION

Participation in regular physical activity can increase self-esteem and reduce stress and anxiety. Physical activity can help play a role in preventing mental health problems and improve the quality of life of those experiencing them.

Limited evidence exists proving physical activity can reduce levels of anxiety and distress in people with mild symptoms by 20-30% and may also be helpful for treating clinical anxiety.
