Inspiring children through Physical Education

Physical Activity is important for physical and mental health.  UK recommendations are that children aged 5 -11 should spend at least  60 minutes or more of a day doing moderate or vigorous activity.

HIGH-QUALITY PHYSICAL EDUCATION SUPPORT

Primekidz objective is to provide a positive attitude both physically and mentally towards sport and physical education in all children.

Our interventions and strategies will enable our qualified coaches to deliver packages, that not only produce effective lessons, but engage children though mindfulness activities that build on their positive mental health attitude and improving fitness levels.

We work with your school adhering to your social distancing measures that you have put in place.  Our coaches will have undertaken covid-19 training, ensuring safety measures are adhered to when coaching and working with children.

Why we focus on primary education??

We call it the Fundamental stage: Neural growth and Neural development.

Neural Growth

Refers to the growth of the brain and the nervous system. These experience rapid growth early in life and approximately 95% of the total size of the nervous system is achieved between birth and ten years of age.

Neural Development

Balance, agility and co-ordination improve as children’s nervous system develop. Myelination (the completion of nerves) of the nerve fibres must be completed before fast reactions and skilled movements are fully developed.

how we help

'Enjoy learning about how to stay healthy, about emotional and mental health, and safe and positive relationships'

‘Make informed choices about healthy eating, fitness and their emotional and mental wellbeing’

Physical Education Lessons and Support
Within each lesson, we strive to give every child the opportunity to develop skills in PE, consider the impact on their health and fitness, compete/perform and evaluate. These elements are always clearly identified in lesson plans. All lessons are carefully differentiated which helps to ensure that learning is as tailored and inclusive as possible.
Our Lesson Plans
Our detailed lesson plans ensure that all our coaches are equipped with the secure subject knowledge required to deliver modern, high-quality teaching and learning opportunities for all areas of the PE National Curriculum. Provide mindfulness activities such as yoga Introducing sports fitness team building activities Dance classes Creating healthier lifestyles and balanced diet
Planning
Primekidz offers a coherently planned sequence of lessons to help teachers ensure they have progressively covered the requirements of the PE National Curriculum. The Planning ensures that children have a varied and well mapped out PE curriculum. It provides the opportunity for progression across the full breadth of the PE National Curriculum for KS1 and KS2 for both indoor and outdoor PE lessons.
Game Based Learning
We use games that provide our coaches with the “scaffold” a way to support children in making sense of their actions both mentally and externally, this is done through conversation and debates. Primekidz staff are trained to have strategies in place when delivering in schools, with a wide range of methods that they use to monitor children’s learning (formative assessments).
Key Stage 1 National Curriculum Aims
Pupils should develop fundamental movement skills, become increasingly competent and confident and access a broad range of opportunities to extend their agility, balance and coordination, individually and with others.
Key Stage 2 National Curriculum Aims
Pupils should continue to apply and develop a broader range of skills, learning how to use them in different ways and to link them to make actions and sequences of movement. They should enjoy communicating, collaborating, and competing.
